000: say what you will I'm not going to change

{[Chiara Lorento Vittore-Griever;]}
NICKNAME: Chia [ɕia:]
AGE: 31
SEX: F
BIRTHDAY: September 15th, 1978

FAMILY RESIDENCE: New York/Perthshire. Her family still resides in NY while Chiara has made her home rather comfortably in Perthshire, except for maybe around the holidays when she goes home to see the rest of them. The family does have a vacation house in Palermo, Sicily even though it isn't as well used as you might think or they might like.

PB: Cristina Scabbia

APPEARANCE: Chiara stands about five feet seven, she's of average build with thick black hair and with eyes that seem just as dark she makes quite an impression. Due to the dark tone of her hair, her already pale skin seems almost white in comparison and she actually rather likes the effect that it creates. She carries her hair down and it reaches to about the middle of her back and nearly always swinging loose, she only brushes it back over her shoulders to keep it out of her way and rarely ties it back. She manages to combine her love for a rather heavy/dark make-up and dark colored clothing with a good sophisticated look that is clearly suitable for her job and age but it does give her a certain edge and makes her stand out a bit among the rest of the teachers. Not that it hasn't gotten her a few sturdy talks from the headmaster but still, she keeps being herself.

She does have a posture that despite her clothing and overall "look" makes it quite clear she belongs there. She might not have attended the school herself but there's something about the way she walks that seems likes she owns the world, or well almost, there's certainly nothing wrong with her confidence at least. Chiara is meticulous about her looks and is next to never seen without her make up, if such an even were to occur, fireballs raining from the sky might be a good idea to look out for. She has a rather large tattoo (3½ * 2) on her right shoulder portraying a wispy looking angel with her wings spread out.

OCCUPATION: Teacher. Law and Ethics teacher to be more exact. Sometimes she pitches in when the Math teacher is out sick or something since she does have a degree in it, even if she's an absolute rubbish math teacher. She's actually a rather, odd, teacher all together.

CAMPUS ACTIVITIES: Yearbook Advisor, though she's near impossible to get a hold of for those who happen to have questions or concerns.
HOUSING: Has a apartment in town, about a 10 minutes drive from the campus. It's a big airy one with a hardwood floor and mostly white painted brick walls. The main room is void of walls, with only four large pillars working as supports for the ceiling. The kitchen area, because it's more an area than a separate room, looks out over the alley and against the brick wall of the building next to it. Appliances in brushed steel is matched up with a large kitchen island in the same material, with a black marble top and barstools in dark wood with black seats. On the floor next to it she's spread out a big white, fluffy carpet and beyond that sits the dining table. Large and white with eight black chairs propped up around it and a metal chandelier hanging over it. There's a small step, well two steps to be exact, up onto a concrete floor that spans the other side of the room. The first part of it has another big white rug, there's a chair and a table with a lamp behind it. On the wall opposite of the seat is a large bookshelf set up, filled to the brim with books. Behind that is a large white sofa, a small table, and another rug before she's mounted the tv on the wall. It's the wall that separates the doorway from the rest of her apartment. A small hallway painted in a soothing tanned color and filled with pictures of her family. Her bedroom is small compared to the rest of the apartment, just enough room for her bed and a small desk where she does occasional work. The walls are white on one side, slowly shading into the tanned color of her hallway and her bathroom finally shares the same color as well. Binding the entire thing together. White appliances, a nice roomy bathtub and a shower stall. There's closets spread along the wall between the bedroom and bathroom and while the apartment surely is luxurious, it still holds a homey, warm feeling. Perhaps mostly so created by the articles of clothings that can be found spread a bit all over the place.

STRENGTHS: Intelligent, fast learner, highly attentive.
WEAKNESSES: Chronically lazy, horrible with deadlines, detached, lackadaisical.

WEIRD QUIRKS:
While she does wear a wristwatch Chiara seems utterly incapable of keeping track of time. She's always late for everything. When confronted about her tardiness she'll tell people she simply got distracted by something and/or lost track of time. In most cases this is the truth too, but in some, it's just a fruitless and lingering way for her to rebel against the fact that she has to be an responsible adult now a days.

Despite being Italian and her family having a summer house in Sicily, Chiara doesn't know much Italian at all. The aspect of learning another language as such never interested her and while she's fairly good at understanding when people speak it, she's utterly incapable of reading, writing or speaking it herself.

Isn't really much for animals but somehow, over her years she's come to own quite a great number of dogs. Currently she's the proud owner of a large brown Newfoundland named Charlie and a small black pug named Jim. She's had Charlie for little over a year and Jim's been with her since she turned 20, he had been a gift from her older brother. Most of the time she's not going to spare another animal a glance and cooing over puppies and kittens? She does that quietly to herself. But her dogs are her family and she loves them more than anything else.

PERSONALITY: Chiara is dismissive, at first she seems like she just does not care, about what you say or about what you think. Sure she'll listen but after a bit her eyes tend to wander as her attention isn't wholly fixed on the person speaking anymore. But this doesn't mean that she doesn't listen, she does. She's actually very attentive and with a great memory she remembers stuff people say even when she's seemingly off in another world or a dream or well anywhere but where she is at that time. She's lackadaisical and acts at time more like a dreaming high school student than the 30+ woman that she is.

While friendly and having a tendency to make people feel comfortable around her, Chiara prefers to spend her time alone. She's truly a loner at heart and has more than once been found in some backwater area of the campus, having a smoke or reading while she should be holding class, which has lead to more than a few interesting run-ins with students that should also have been at class at those times. She doesn't hold herself above the rest of the student body and her colleagues as much as she holds herself away from them.

She's not one to boast but Chiara knows she's good at what she does and really as long as she wants something, she can have it. it's just such a hassle most of the time. Yeah she's lazy, she's lazy as hell even. She doesn't love her job, but it's something to pass time with until she finds something else to do. As for her views on the kids, well lets just say she's known to fail people, A LOT of people. She has high standards and if the kids can't learn what they're supposed to with what she gives them, they really have no business at all studying law. She's one of those teachers that students either hate or love and she takes it with a shrug. Everyone has the right to an opinion after all, even if it happens to be completely off the bat. And while keeping focused isn't really something for her, she does do honesty really well, even if she is empathic enough to hold back from being too hurtful. Chiara is quite clearly of money but she doesn't really act like the spoiled little brat one could expect her to be.

HISTORY: Chiara's childhood was, average. As average as it could be really when you were a part of a diplomatic family at least. Her father Giuseppe Vittore was an Italian diplomat working out of the Italian consulate for a couple of years until he met her mother Alessa Griever at a conference in New York City. Alessa was part of the staff at the conference hall and out of chance the two started talking and it was the beginning of a torrid love affair. You at the time Giuseppe was already married to a woman named Felisa and they had two little children, Antonio and Matteo, twins at the age of three. The affair was kept hidden for a while but after nearly two years of back and forth the Vittore family returned to Italy and Alessa was left alone to fend for herself. There was still means of contact, mail and phone calls between her and the now former diplomat and he even visited her once in the spring of '76. Things started unraveling after that as nearly two months later Alessa found herself pregnant and Giuseppe found himself in a very, very tricky spot. His wife found out as Giuseppe's secretary called one late night in the following winter to congratulate him on becoming a father and was flabbergast as Felisa had been then one to answer.

As spring broke, the divorce had been settled and regrettably so Giuseppe moved back across the Atlantic to help the young Alessa raise their child. It was a boy that they named Salvatore after her father. The new baby by was the start of a new life for the both of them and they got a lofty apartment that cost by the month more than she'd earned in a year. She was thrown head first into a whole new world of luxury, a comfortable world. Chiara was born in the autumn of '78, Giuseppe's first daughter and she would become his pride and joy, no matter what. While the family could easily afford a nanny, they didn't spend the money on that, but instead Alessa stayed home with the young as Giuseppe cared for his new business; an advertising agency.

Chiara wasn't all that vocal as a child, sure the made her noises and screamed and cried but her voice was always rather weak and by the time she was three and had just started talking, the pair had their third child; another boy, Giovanni. Chiara was five at the time of her parents marriage, and even her two half brothers attended the wedding. She was a serious child, not much for running around and causing a ruckus. Her brothers did that more than enough. Instead she spent her time learning to read and write and by the time she started school was already ahead of her class. Chiara was her father's pride and joy and whenever there was time he would take her to the office and let her partake in what he was doing as much as she could. She was a bright child and the same sort of expectations was placed on her as was on her brothers. The Vittore-Griever children were all destined for greatness, at least so their father thought.

While her brothers had been hellions as children, her troubles started when she reached high school. She was the teenage daughter of a wealty Italian businessman and the last thing on her mind was school. She started cutting class, her grades dropping and she spent all her times hanging out with the wrong crowd of boys. They were different, so thrilling and exciting compared to her pristine and well kept world. She never forgot her dreams and though her father and her had some truly awful fights Chiara was pretty much allowed to do as she wanted. Which at age 16 ended with her being arrested along with the rest of her friends on accounts of possession and possession with the intent to sell. It was a low point in her book and as a drastic measure her father sent her off to a boarding school in Berkshire. She spent the following 2 years at the Luckley-Oakfield School and being locked away at an all girl school did help to pull her away from the life she'd been living, though it did deteriorate her relationship with her father.

Once eighteen her father no longer had much say in what she did and with whom and during the winter of '96 Chiara disappeared. Nothing was heard from her until she turned 20 and still to this day she's rather secretive about what happened during those two years off the grid. In reality she'd come to live with one of her old friends and for nearly two years straight she played and partied and had the time of her life, at a few times she had almost too good a time and it was nearly the end of her life after long nights out and ending up in the wrong neighbor hood or on the wrong person's bad side. The once pampered little princess returned to her family on New Years Eve of '98 and the following spring she enrolled in college. Making quick riddance of her old missed classes and passing the new ones with flying colors, Chiara proved that she could indeed be the brilliant child her father had always claimed she was.

Her personal life was lacking but she didn't really care and when her younger brother got her a pug as a present for starting University Chiara came to feel that not all that much was really lacking anymore. But she wasn't the serious and focused person she had been, Chiara had changed and the more time she spent in school the more aloof she seemed to get. Her knack for remembering details came well into play as she more or less stumbled into a Law class and it was something that just made sense to her. She was going to be a lawyer but missed a bar exam by being half an hour late, so instead she ended up taking on a teaching job, assistant to a Ethics teacher to be more exact and it was rather entertaining as well. Eventually got a teachers diploma, even though that was a bit of a hassle as well, she graduated in '06, after finally settling down. With her family's money and connections and actually mostly thanks to the connections she'd made during her college years she landed herself a job as the Law professor at Ainsworth in the summer of '09.

EXTRA: Due to her years away from the scene Chiara isn't the most known among socialite circles as she was never a Débutante. She's also rather handy with a knife, something she picked up from her years away from it all. While not looking like it the least, Chiara was among the top 2% of her law class and would have made one hell of a lawyer, had she not overslept.
